WELCOME Welcome to the Glendale Youth Orchestra's (GYO) 19th season! The GYO is a non-profit organization located in Glendale, California, that provides dedicated young musicians an extraordinary opportunity to perform classical music in a formal orchestral setting. The GYO's mission is based on the belief that our young people have a better chance of succeeding in their world if they appreciate and participate in its rich artistic and cultural traditions. The Glendale Youth Orchestra draws young musicians throughout the entire Los Angeles area, from as far as Westlake Village, Valencia, Palmdale to Apple Valley, San Dimas, and every place in between. The orchestra is composed of students ranging from grade six through the first two years of college who have studied their instrument for a minimum of two years. Musicians are required to participate in their school music programs and required to take weekly private music instruction (if your school has no music program this does not apply). This year's initial auditions will be August 28 and September 4, 2007. If you missed those dates it's not too late to apply. Call now to schedule (818) 321 3083.THANK YOU The GYO depends on the generosity of individual and business patrons to make our programs possible. We are grateful to all private contributors as well as the following agencies for helping to make this season a reality:
